Youth Impact Grants: Win $8,500 + mentorship for your climate action project – Apply by April 8, 2025

Youth Impact – Because You Matter is an initiative led by UNESCO, in collaboration with Nestlé, and powered by the Nestlé Youth Entrepreneurship Platform. This program is designed to empower young people worldwide by equipping them with the skills, resources, and funding necessary to drive impactful projects in environmental sustainability and climate action.
Through this initiative, 100 youth-led projects will be selected globally to receive financial support and mentorship, enabling young leaders to make a tangible difference in their communities.
What’s in Store for Selected Project Leaders?
- Grant Funding: Each selected project will receive a USD 8,500 grant to support its implementation.
- Training and Mentorship: Participants will engage in a six-month capacity-building program, including:
- Immersion Training: Hands-on workshops led by Nestlé experts focusing on entrepreneurship, project management, and youth-driven impact.
- Online Contextualized Training: Sessions tailored to specific geographical challenges and priorities, in collaboration with UNESCO regional partners.
- Monthly Online Gatherings: Insights from UNESCO and Nestlé experts on project execution, sustainability, and youth innovation.
- One-on-One Mentorship: Personalized guidance from a Nestlé executive mentor to refine and scale project ideas.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be classified as “youth” in their respective countries or fall within the 18-30 years old range.
- Engage in activism, changemaking, or entrepreneurial efforts, either individually or as part of a youth-led organization.
- Operate a youth-led entity, association, or network seeking local or national impact.
- Ensure the project is:
- Aligned with the Initiative’s theme of environmental sustainability and climate action.
- Implemented within six months.
- Local or national in scope.
- Led by at least three young people, with a clearly designated leader.

Key Focus Areas
Projects should address one or more of the following:
- Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation: Strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow global warming.
- Renewable Energy Solutions: Promoting sustainable and low-carbon economies.
- Public Education & Awareness: Strengthening climate literacy and community engagement.
- Ecosystem Resilience: Protecting natural and cultural heritage sites against climate-related risks.
- Climate Justice & Ethical Sustainability: Upholding principles of fairness, intergenerational equity, and environmental stewardship.

If Selected, What’s Next?
The 100 chosen grantees will embark on a transformative journey, including:
- Regional Representation: Grants are distributed across five UNESCO regions:
- Africa
- Arab Region
- Asia and the Pacific
- Europe and North America
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- Award Ceremony: Recognition of outstanding projects and their impact on 18 September 2025.
- Capability Building Program (Aug 2025 – Apr 2026):
- Specialized training from UNESCO and Nestlé experts.
- Interactive learning on innovation, project management, and sustainability.
- Access to Nestlé’s Innovation Box, where grantees will refine their ideas, consumer validation, and pitching skills.
