Protection without Borders league (POWIB) is an independent youth-led non-governmental organization which operates by principle of non-discrimination, transparency in rendering specialized services, responses and assistance to individuals and families in need. POWIB provide services and assistance in the areas of Child Protection, Health, Education, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Counter-trafficking, Countering Violence Extremism (CVE), Capacity Building of CBOs and CSOs, peacebuilding, data collection and analysis, humanitarian and development research and analysis. Response is delivered due to the negative impact of conflict in affected communities while paying specific attention to the most vulnerable among the affected populace.
The organization is looking forward to recruit a community-based case worker willing to work within the tenets of the humanitarian and organization’s guiding principles and policies.

Job Description
The Project Officer (Protection) will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of protection activities in line with the organization’s protection strategy and donor requirements. The role includes community engagement, coordination with stakeholders, case management support, and capacity building to ensure effective delivery of protection services.
Key Responsibilities Program Implementation
- Assist in the planning and execution of protection-related project activities, including awareness campaigns, training, and community dialogues.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor protection activities and identify emerging risks or protection concerns.
- Support the establishment and strengthening of community-based protection mechanisms.
- Provide technical support on protection standards to field teams and local partners.
Case Management & Referrals
- Support protection case identification, documentation, and referrals following standard operating procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection in line with protection principles.
- Assist in follow-up and documentation of referred cases to ensure services are accessed.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Assist in developing protection tools for assessments, monitoring, and reporting.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and donor reports with activity updates, challenges, and recommendations.
- Participate in assessments and data collection for protection trends and needs analysis.
Coordination & Representation
- Represent the organization at field-level protection coordination meetings and community forums.
- Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure a coordinated approach to protection.
- Support in mapping and updating referral pathways and service providers in target areas.
Capacity Building
- Support the organization of training for staff, partners, and community volunteers on protection principles and practices.
- Contribute to developing training materials and IEC tools for community sensitization.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, International Relations, or related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in humanitarian or development work with a focus on protection.
- Demonstrated knowledge of protection principles, human rights, and relevant standards (e.g., SPHERE, IASC).
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including women, children, and displaced persons.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and demanding environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and data collection tools.
- Fluency in English; local languages are an asset.
