Resource Mobilization / Proposal Development Specialist At Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO)

Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), a nonprofit community development organisation headquartered
in Benin City, Edo State, is seeking a competent and experienced Resource Mobilization / Proposal
Development Specialist to expand our funding portfolio and strengthen support for mission-driven
programmes.
LAPO is committed to delivering sustainable financial, health, and social services to its stakeholders across
Nigeria using innovative and community-based approaches.
We are in search of a dynamic professional to lead the development of high-quality proposals and facilitate
the mobilisation of both local and international resources for programme sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective funding strategies; monitor upcoming grant opportunities to
ensure timely and strategic applications.
Lead the proposal development process, including setting timelines, coordinating teams, and
facilitating planning meetings.
Conceptualise and design high-impact proposals with clear work plans, budgets, and results
frameworks that meet donor standards.
Organise and facilitate regular review sessions to ensure proposal quality, donor alignment, and
timely submission.
Establish formal partnerships with relevant organisations and maintain a centralised archive of all
proposal documents and assets.
Mobilise local resources for the execution of special projects and one-off activities.
Maintain and update a comprehensive database of funding records, donor timelines, and priority
areas for proactive engagement.
Collaborate with programme and relevant departments to ensure that project implementation and
reporting meet donor requirements for eligibility.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in proposal development and resource mobilisation
Strong writing, editing, research, formatting, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and ability to apply brand-standard layouts to proposals.
Solid skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe, Dropbox, and other collaborative
platforms.
Familiarity with programme design tools and methodologies, including logic models, theories of
change, and results frameworks.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage remote collaboration.
