ACU Routledge/Round Table Commonwealth Studentships 2025 (up to £5,500)

The ACU Routledge/Round Table Commonwealth Studentships 2025 offers two PhD studentships, each valued at up to £5,500, to support research projects on Commonwealth related themes in the humanities and social sciences. Here’s what you need to know:

Benefits:

– Funding of up to £5,500 for research projects

– Opportunity to work with a mentor from a different Commonwealth country

– Requirement to produce a 4,000-6,000 word article for publication in The Round Table journal

– Creation of a podcast on your research for publication on the journal’s website

– Payment structure: £4,000 upon announcement of the award and £1,500 upon completion of post-studentship requirements

Eligibility:

Who Can Apply: Registered PhD students in the humanities and social sciences

Specific Eligibility Criteria:

– For one studentship: PhD students registered at UK universities (not necessarily UK citizens)
– For the other studentship: PhD students registered at ACU member universities in Commonwealth countries other than the UK, and Chevening and Commonwealth Scholarship alumni who are PhD students at any Commonwealth university outside the UK

Research Proposal Requirements:

– Relate to the Commonwealth as a whole or to any Commonwealth-wide institution or organization
– Have a Commonwealth comparative aspect
– Be of relevance to more than one Commonwealth country
