Job Summary
- We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead our operations and ensure the effective delivery of our strategic objectives.
- This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing organization and shape impactful community-based programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead program planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation in alignment with organizational goals.
- Facilitate effective community engagement and stakeholder collaboration at the grassroots level.
- Identify and drive fundraising strategies and donor engagement.
- Supervise financial and administrative functions, promoting optimal resource utilization.
- Maintain accurate records and databases for internal use, reporting, and external communication.
- Support the leadership team in long-term planning, risk management, and organizational development.
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Human Relations, Public Health, or other relevant disciplines. A postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in nonprofit administration, program management, or related roles.
- Demonstrated experience in project implementation, monitoring, reporting, and team coordination.
- Interest in areas such as maternal and child health, special education, or disability inclusion is highly desirable
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and at least one local language.
- Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and compliance.
- Experience in grant writing and donor communication.
- Understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks and impact assessment.
- Leadership capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their application in development work.
- Innovative, strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Passionate about working with marginalized communities and advancing child health and rights.
