Malaria Consortium was established in 2003, Malaria Consortium is one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations specializing in the comprehensive prevention, control and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases, among vulnerable and under privileged populations. We increasingly find our work on malaria to be effectively integrateable with other similar public health interventions for greater impact and therefore expanded our remit to include child health and neglected tropical disease interventions, and we are further piloting integration with vitamin A supplementation (VAS) intervention. We work in Africa and Asia with communities, governments, academic institutions, and local and international organizations, to ensure effective delivery of services, which are supported by strong evidence.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Workshop Assistant

Location: Niger
Slots: 2 Openings

Job Purpose

  • The purpose is to engage Workshop Assistants to provide support for the Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week Post-Event Survey Trainings of Personnel: Research Assistants/Data Collectors, and Supervisors.

Scope of Assignment
Specific activities of workshop Assistant (IT & Administration):

  • Distribute workshop materials to participants as necessary.
  • Distribute training materials.
  • Distribution and coordination of refreshments (Tea break and Lunch)
  • Take photograph of training sessions
  • Coordinate Attendance taking.
  • Set up and operate IT equipment for smooth running of the meeting where necessary.
  • Perform other assigned duties for the smooth running of the workshop/trainings.
  • Do other assigned duties for the smooth running of the workshop.

Deliverables
The successful candidate will deliver the following items:

  • Completed and validated participants’/facilitators attendance list (hard copies and soft copies)
  • Collated and validated bank details of facilitator/ participants (both hard and soft copy).
  • Typed in Excel format the list of participants with bank account details.
  • E-copy of training pictures with consent obtained.
  • Typed notes of the meeting
  • At the end of the assignment, provide a summary of the tasks and responsibilities handled by the Workshop Assistant during the training.

Person Specifications
Essential qualifications:

  • A minimum of an HND / B.Sc. in any discipline.
  • Experience in providing administrative support for workshops and training.
  • Ability to take notes of a meeting.

Skills and competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suites (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS Project packages).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills are required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team and to handle multiple priorities is required.
