JDPC Nigeria is currently recruiting a Protection and Gender Officer, for their humanitarian projects in Michika and Madagali LGAs, Adamawa State. This is a unique NGO job opportunity in Northeast Nigeria for professionals passionate about gender equality and protection work.

Position: Protection and Gender Officer
Location: Michika and Madagali LGAs, Adamawa State
Contract Type: Full-time (Fixed-Term)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead protection assessments and analyze gender-related protection risks in target communities.
- Plan and facilitate gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and response activities.
- Strengthen referral pathways for survivors of abuse and ensure access to relevant services.
- Collaborate with program teams to mainstream gender and protection across all projects.
- Train community leaders and staff on protection principles and gender-sensitive practices.
- Participate in coordination meetings with relevant stakeholders and protection clusters.
- Develop detailed activity reports and contribute to project documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- A university degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Psychology, Law, or related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in protection or gender-related roles, preferably within an NGO or humanitarian setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GBV prevention, protection principles, and case management.
- Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and community engagement skills.
- Fluency in English and knowledge of local languages (e.g., Hausa, Margi, or Kamwe) is highly desirable.
- High degree of integrity and professional ethics, particularly in handling sensitive information.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience working in Michika or Madagali LGAs or other parts of Northeast Nigeria.
- Ability to work independently in high-stress environments with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with donor reporting and monitoring tools.
