This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Environment and Society Centre (ESC) – a hub for impartial, cutting-edge research dedicated to addressing global environmental challenges and shaping a more sustainable future.
The ESC provides evidence-based insights to governments, businesses, and civil society, focusing on the political and economic barriers to effective climate action. It supports regional and international collaboration through policy recommendations and global dialogue.

Key themes include the geopolitical consequences of moving away from fossil fuels, governance of critical mineral supply chains, and scaling up low-carbon technologies. The Fellow will also collaborate with Chatham House’s Global Economy and Finance team to examine the role of climate finance, including mechanisms such as loss and damage funding, in implementing climate and energy policy.
This is a globally-focused position, working across regions including Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
