Role Overview
The Technical Officer – Prevention, Care & Treatment will be responsible for providing hands-on technical and programmatic support for the clinical management of HIV/AIDS and PMTCT services. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality HIV/AIDS care, including antiretroviral therapy (ART), while also contributing to the development and execution of HIV/AIDS mitigation strategies. This includes programming for orphans and vulnerable children, home-based care, and other community-based support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer technical support for the implementation of clinical HIV/AIDS care, with a focus on ART delivery.
- Contribute to strategy design and implementation for HIV/AIDS mitigation at the community level.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of interventions related to clinical HIV/AIDS management at the field level.
- Build capacity at the state level in HIV/AIDS care, support, and prevention.
- Collaborate with technical teams to adapt and disseminate tools, guidelines, and best practices to improve service quality.
- Assist in the development of tools and recommendations for evaluating and implementing HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs.
Minimum Requirements:
- A medical degree (MB.BS / MD) with 4–6 years post-NYSC experience in clinical HIV care, including PMTCT and ART in resource-limited settings.
- Proven experience in project development, planning, and training facilitation.
- Strong familiarity with Nigeria’s public health system, as well as local NGOs and community-based organizations, is highly preferred.
