Position: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Lagos

Key Objectives of the Role
As a Medical Laboratory Scientist at MSI, your primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and efficient clinical laboratory services. You will:
- Support the Centre Coordinator by maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring quality control of all procedures.
- Deliver accurate testing and timely results while upholding strict client confidentiality.
- Support outreach activities and generate demand for reproductive health services.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and uphold the highest standards of laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Management
- Perform and document accurate tests on collected specimens.
- Ensure lab equipment is calibrated and maintained.
- Maintain stock levels and manage inventory for reagents and consumables.
- Conduct internal quality control and manage specimen storage and transportation.
- Stay updated with current Nigerian laboratory testing protocols.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Create a welcoming and professional lab environment for all clients.
- Offer basic clinical counselling and support related to core services.
- Address client complaints and follow through to resolution.
- Represent MSI positively with health partners and during regulatory visits.
Communication & Administration
- Submit lab reports in a timely manner to the center team.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all activities.
- Use MSI’s internal systems for improved service delivery and communication.
ELIGIBILITY
Ideal candidates will:
- Hold a recognized clinical qualification with valid license and registration from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently.
- Demonstrate high self-awareness, passion, resilience, and commitment to MSI’s mission.
- Possess excellent documentation and administrative skills.
