Call for Applications: World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Program 2026
The World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship Program 2026 is now open for applications. This flagship initiative is designed to help governments unlock the full potential of their data and strengthen public sector efficiency through data-driven decision-making.
Grounded in the insights of the Government Analytics Handbook and supported by leading experts from the World Bank and University College London (UCL), the Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for government officials to gain cutting-edge knowledge and hands-on experience in government analytics.
The program is jointly organized by the World Bank’s Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC), Development Impact Group (DECDI), Institutions Global Department, Institute for Economic Development, and University College London (UCL).
Program Overview
- A 6-month fellowship combining in-person training and ongoing expert support to design and implement a government analytics project.
- Includes two weeks of intensive, full-time training in Washington, D.C., featuring the Public Institutions Conference and the Government Analytics course.
- Participants will receive mentorship from senior World Bank and UCL experts.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be mid-level managers or senior analysts in central government organizations or agencies.
- Have the authority to design and implement a government analytics project.
- Demonstrate prior coursework in statistics or quantitative methods.
- Be proficient in English.
- Be formally nominated by their organization (maximum of 2 fellows per institution).
- Be available to travel to Washington, D.C. for the in-person sessions.

- A 150-word statement outlining how you plan to apply the fellowship to strengthen your organization through a government analytics project.
- An endorsement letter from your organization, confirming both your role and nomination.
