Job Overview: Senior Associate, Malaria Program
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
CHAI is seeking a dynamic Senior Associate to support its Private Retailers for Improved Malaria Outcomes (PRIME) Project. The role involves overseeing program implementation across more than 2,000 pharmaceutical retailers, ensuring effective malaria commodity distribution, and strengthening partnerships with key health stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring strong project management, supply chain expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with a commitment to CHAI’s mission of reducing the malaria burden in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for malaria program activities at state level, ensuring timely execution and quality results.
- Support commodity forecasting, procurement planning, and supplier engagement to ensure efficient delivery of malaria products.
- Map and engage pharmaceutical retailers and distributors to improve distribution networks in target states.
- Conduct market intelligence assessments and generate reports to inform program strategies.
- Develop training content, implementation guides, and data collection tools for program teams.
- Collaborate with M&E teams to set targets, monitor performance, and adjust project strategies in real time.
- Strengthen partnerships with federal and state agencies, including NMEP, PCN, and NAPPMED.
- Manage and analyze large datasets, ensuring data quality for program decision-making and reporting.
- Mentor and supervise consultants and field teams to align with project objectives.
- Produce high-quality presentations, reports, and knowledge-sharing materials for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in public health, pharmaceutical supply chain, or retail distribution projects.
- Strong knowledge of malaria commodities and pharmaceutical market dynamics.
- Demonstrated project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong data analysis and reporting abilities.
- Ability to travel domestically across Nigeria.
Added Advantage
- Master’s degree (MBA, MPH, or related).
- Knowledge of malaria and other infectious diseases.
- Experience in monitoring & evaluation and operational research.
- Prior experience working in resource-limited settings.
