About the Atlantic Fellows Programme
The Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity (AFSEE) programme is part of a prestigious network of seven Atlantic Fellowships worldwide. The initiative builds a global community of leaders committed to tackling inequality through innovative research, collaborative projects, and social impact.
The fellowship supports individuals who are:
- Bold and imaginative in reimagining fairer societies.
- Experienced in addressing structural inequalities.
- Committed to long-term collective change.
Tracks Available
The fellowship offers two distinct participation tracks:
1. Residential Fellowship (Full-Time, London-Based)
- Fellows study for a Master’s in Inequalities and Social Science (MSc) at LSE.
- Includes full tuition, living costs, and travel funding.
- Requires at least 7 years of leadership experience and a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent.
2. Non-Residential Fellowship (Part-Time, Global Track)
- Fellows continue their professional work while engaging remotely.
- Includes immersive online learning, collaborative projects, and in-person convenings.
- Open to applicants with or without an undergraduate degree, provided they demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must demonstrate:
- Minimum of 7 years of impactful work advancing equity and social justice.
- Strong leadership and collaboration in addressing inequality.
- Commitment to social change, not merely personal advancement.
- English language proficiency (LSE standard requirement).
- (Residential Track only) Eligibility for LSE MSc admission.
Special consideration is given to applicants from:
- The Global South.
- Marginalized or underrepresented groups, including Black, Indigenous, Asian, LGBTQIA+, refugee, female-identifying, or people with disabilities.
Selection Criteria
The selection process assesses:
- Experience: Proven record of challenging inequalities in policy, advocacy, research, or activism.
- Vision and Future Impact: A clear, innovative plan for advancing equity post-fellowship.
- Commitment: Readiness to engage with diverse perspectives and contribute to the global AFSEE community.
- Project Plan (Non-Residential Track): A feasible initiative addressing systemic inequality.
- Academic Purpose (Residential Track): Clear goals for applying LSE learning to real-world change.
