This 2025 recruitment drive provides two main entry routes:

  • Basic Military Training Course (BMTC): For secondary school graduates, artisans, and diploma holders who wish to serve as airmen/airwomen.
  • Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC): For degree and HND holders aiming to be commissioned directly as officers in the Air Force.

The recruitment exercise commenced on 14th October 2025 and will close on 25th November 2025.

General Requirements

All applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to NAF standards.
  • Minimum height: 1.66m (men) and 1.63m (women).
  • Applicants must be of good character and not have any criminal record.
  • Application is completely free and only available on the official portal.

Eligibility Requirements

For Basic Military Training Course (BMTC)

  • Age: 18 to 22 years (non-tradesmen/women); 18 to 25 years (tradesmen/women).
  • Education: Minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC/NECO/NABTEB/GCE — obtained in not more than two sittings.
  • Tradesmen/women: Must possess additional professional certificates such as ND, NCE, or Trade Test Certificate.

For Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC)

  • Age: 20 to 32 years.
  • Education: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in relevant fields.
  • Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program and possess a valid certificate.
  • Serving military personnel are also eligible to apply if they meet the requirements.
  • The DSSC program lasts six months, after which successful candidates are commissioned as Flying Officers.

Step 2: Prepare Documents

  • Valid means of identification (National ID, Driver’s License, Voter’s Card, or International Passport)
  • Recent passport photograph (clear background)

Step 3: Online Registration

Once you have your documents ready, proceed with the online registration process:

  • Create an account on the official NAF recruitment portal
  • Fill out the online application form carefully
  • Upload all required documents correctly
  • Review your entries and submit your application

After submission, print out your:

  • Acknowledgement Form
  • Attestation Form

These forms will be required during screening and verification.
