​As a Summer Fellow, you will execute a project of your choosing, ranging from policy engagement to operations management, while building a powerful professional network within the global AI safety community.

​The “Applied Track”: Impact Beyond Research

​The Applied Track is unique because it allows you to focus on the practical side of AI governance. Past participants have worked on high-impact initiatives such as:

  • ​Organizing major policy engagement events.
  • ​Developing communication strategies for new AI safety organizations.
  • ​Drafting policy memos to inform real-time legislative developments.

​Each fellow is paired with an expert mentor from the GovAI network. You will spend the first two weeks exploring your project and the final ten weeks executing it with direct professional guidance.

​Who Should Apply? (Requirements & Eligibility)

​GovAI encourages applications from a diverse range of professional backgrounds. There are no specific degree requirements for this role.
