​Selected fellows receive a comprehensive package to ensure they can focus entirely on their development:

  • Travel & Transport: AWF covers all round-trip airfare and ground transportation for the in-person residency in Nairobi, Kenya.

​Eligibility Requirements

​To be considered for the 2026 cohort, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Nationality: Must be a national of an African country, currently living and working within Africa.
  • Age: Between 20 and 35 years old at the time of application.
  • Education: Hold at least a Diploma in any field of study.
  • Professional Passion: Must demonstrate a clear interest in a career in conservation, even if your background is in a non science field (e.g., Law, Finance, Admin).
  • Language: While open to Francophone and Lusophone applicants, a basic command of English is required as all applications and sessions are conducted in English.

​How to Apply Step by Step Guide

​The AWF-Wall Fellowship uses a digital application portal that allows you to save your progress as you go.

    1. Access the Portal: Visit the official AWF Fellowship webpage.
    2. Create an Account: Use the “APPLY” button (located on the right for PC users and at the top for mobile). Use your official name and a reliable email address.
    3. Draft Your Application: Detail your passion for project implementation and leadership in the environmental space.
