Your Impact as State Team Lead
As the primary representative of Pathfinder in Jigawa, you will provide the strategic direction needed to ensure the success of the CARMNIS project. Your responsibilities are divided into five core pillars:
1. Strategic Technical Leadership (20%)
You will oversee the implementation of RMNCH+N (Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child Health + Nutrition) interventions. This includes supervising Capacity Building Officers and ensuring that the “Network of Care” model is effectively operationalized across all LGAs.
2. Systems & Policy Integration (20%)
You will ensure all project activities align with the Community-Based Health Workers (CBHW) policies and state health standards. Your goal is to weave the CARMNIS model into the existing Jigawa State health infrastructure for long-term sustainability.
3. Stakeholder & Government Relations (10%)
You will serve as the face of Pathfinder, engaging with the Jigawa State Ministry of Health, SPHCB, and traditional institutions. High level advocacy is key to securing resource commitments and policy alignment.
4. Operational & Financial Oversight (10%)
Management of the Jigawa field office falls under your purview. You will ensure strict compliance with Pathfinder’s financial procedures, procurement guidelines, and safeguarding policies.
5. Field Coordination & Monitoring (30%)
From mapping CBHW deployment to leading data-driven technical reviews, you will ensure the field teams are performing at their peak. You will also be responsible for documenting success stories and high-quality reporting for donor submissions.
Requirements
Pathfinder is looking for a leader who understands the Northern Nigerian health landscape and possesses a deep commitment to reproductive health.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Medicine, Nursing, or Social Sciences (Master’s degree highly preferred).
- Experience: 8–10 years in public health management, with at least 5 years specifically in state level stakeholder engagement or PHC coordination.
- Key Skills: Strong leadership, budget management, and familiarity with Nigerian community health worker programs.
- Language: Proficiency in English and the local language (Hausa) is essential.
- Travel: Willingness to travel at least 40% of the time within the state.
