As a Case Management Assistant, you will be the primary point of contact for individuals facing protection risks. Your mission is to provide a safe, trusting environment while helping clients navigate their challenges through professional support and coordinated care.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Intake: Conduct empathetic interviews to identify vulnerable individuals and assess their emotional and social needs.
- Action Planning: Collaborate with clients to create personalized care plans and conduct home visits to better understand their living situations.
- Referrals & Support: Guide clients toward essential services and provide basic psychosocial counseling to help them cope with trauma.
- Data Integrity: Maintain precise and confidential records of all cases on the DRC’s internal platforms, ensuring every step of a client’s progress is documented.
- Advocacy: Identify gaps in local services and work with other providers to ensure the community’s needs are being met effectively.
Requirements
The DRC is looking for someone who combines professional expertise with genuine empathy.
- Education: A University Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least one year of relevant professional experience in the field.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with excellent reporting abilities.
- Language: Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri is essential, alongside a strong working command of English.
- Mindset: You must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a non discriminatory, respectful attitude toward all clients.
