Job Description
- Are you a passionate gender or climate justice expert with a flair for storytelling and documentary production? A regional project under the African Activists for Climate Justice (AACJ) initiative is seeking a Consultant to document the lived experiences of women and girls most affected by climate change in Niger, Benue, and Nasarawa States.
- This short-term consultancy (4 weeks) will result in a comprehensive report, a policy brief, and a 30–40 minute documentary, showcasing the gendered impacts of climate change and the power of community-led advocacy efforts.
Key Objectives
- Amplify the stories of women and girls facing climate-related challenges.
- Showcase the advocacy efforts of trained women’s groups.
- Provide insight into effective gender-responsive climate adaptation.
- Support inclusive, local narrative-based policy recommendations.
Scope of Work
- Conduct fieldwork and qualitative research in the three states.
- Interview women, girls, and advocacy groups.
- Document impact and narratives through writing and visuals.
- Produce a final documentary, report, and policy brief.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in climate justice and gender advocacy.
- Experience in qualitative research and documentary production.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines.
