JOB SUMMARY: 

  • The Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. The role involves managing daily financial transactions, preparing reports, and contributing to financial strategy and planning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Monitor bank transactions and reconcile bank statements
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Prepare tax returns and ensure timely filing of tax and statutory obligations
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
  • Contribute to financial risk management strategies

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or ACCA is an advantage)
  • Proven work experience as a Finance Officer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar)
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

YOE:

  • 2-3 years working in NGO setting
