Fully funded African Young Women Leaders (AfYWL) Fellowship Programme 2025( Stipend available)

The African Young Women Leaders Fellowship Programme offers a unique opportunity for young African women to gain valuable experience and contribute to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) mission. This 12-month fellowship program provides a chance to work at UNDP’s headquarters in New York or in one of its regional or country offices.

Responsibilities:

As an AfYWL Fellow, you will be expected to:

– Support UNDP’s programs and projects in areas such as sustainable development, gender equality, and human rights
– Conduct research, analysis, and reporting on key issues affecting African women and girls
– Collaborate with UNDP teams, stakeholders, and partners to advance programmatic objectives
– Develop and implement innovative solutions to address development challenges
– Enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as project management, communication, and teamwork

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the AfYWL Fellowship Programme, applicants must:

– Be a citizen of an African country
– Be between the ages of 18 and 30
– Applicants will need to have accomplished Master’s diploma or equal in Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, International Relations/Development, Law, Communications, Digitalization or different associated growth discipline.
– Demonstrate strong commitment to UNDP’s mission and values
– Possess excellent communication, analytical, and teamwork skills

  • Maximum cumulative two years (submit bachelor/postmaster diploma) of related and paid working expertise in analysis, evaluation and programme/challenge growth, implementation and administration.
  • Strong working information of English is required.
  • Proficiency in at the least one further AU working language (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese or Spanish) is a bonus.
  • Female candidates accepted solely.
  • National of an African Union member state.
  • Maximum age of 30 on the date of application.
  • Available in 2025/2026 to dedicate 12 months for a fellowship task.
  • Available late 2025 to relocate to responsibility station and begin the Fellowship task.
  • Willing to reside and work outdoors nation of residence on an task which leverages in your abilities & potential.
