Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political humanitarian organization committed to promoting a just world where children’s rights and gender equality are upheld. Established in 2018 and officially registered in 2023, WRCI has been at the forefront of responding to crises in Nigeria, particularly in the Northeast and Northwest regions affected by insurgency and banditry.
Since launching operations in 2019, WRCI has provided life-saving support and long-term development programs to vulnerable communities, ensuring dignity, recovery, and resilience.
WRCI is implementing a transformative initiative titled “Strengthening Community Resilience against Extremism and Violent Extremism through Rehabilitation and Reintegration of Women and Youth Associated with Violent Extremism.”
The project will be carried out in Bakori LGA, Katsina State, and targets individuals and communities impacted by armed groups and insurgency. The program focuses on rehabilitation, reintegration, and psychosocial support to restore stability and sustainable livelihoods.
Position: Logistics and Procurement Officer
This role is vital to the success of the project. The Logistics and Procurement Officer will manage all procurement and supply chain activities to ensure seamless project delivery. You’ll be responsible for coordinating the purchase and transportation of goods, overseeing inventory, liaising with vendors, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement of goods and services in compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.
- Coordinate transportation and distribution logistics for project materials.
- Maintain up-to-date procurement records, contracts, and inventory logs.
- Build and manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Monitor stock levels and forecast future procurement needs.
- Ensure proper storage and accountability of project assets.
- Support trainings, workshops, and community activities through effective logistical planning.
- Work with project teams to anticipate supply chain needs.
- Ensure compliance during procurement audits and donor reviews.
- Train and support staff on procurement systems and best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Solid understanding of procurement standards, tendering procedures, and donor compliance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Familiarity with humanitarian contexts in Nigeria is a strong asset.
