VOICE Fellowship 2025 – Empowering Storytellers on Climate & Health
Climate change isn’t only an environmental challenge it is reshaping public health and community well-being across India. From food insecurity and heat stress to waterborne diseases and rising mental health pressures, the impacts are intensifying. Yet, the connection between climate change, environment, and health often goes underreported, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns and rural media landscapes.
To bridge this gap, the VOICE Fellowship 2025, under the CARE Project (Communicating Action and Resilience for Environmental Health), is inviting applications from young content creators and communicators across India.
What is the VOICE Fellowship?
The VOICE Fellowship is a fully funded residential science communication program hosted at IISER Pune. It brings together rural and regional storytellers for a 3-day immersive training designed to strengthen their ability to communicate the complex links between climate and health.
Participants will engage in interactive learning with scientists, public health experts, and communication mentors, gaining hands-on experience in storytelling, reporting, and content creation for their communities.

- Location: IISER Pune, India
- Dates: December 16–20, 2025
- Format: 3 days of training, fieldwork, and collaborative learning
- Certification: Official participation certificate provided
- Funding: Fully covered (travel reimbursement upon completion)
What You Will Learn
As a VOICE Fellow, you will:
- Build expertise in evidence-based storytelling
- Understand the science behind climate and health risks
- Collaborate with peers to create a toolkit for community communication
- Present and workshop local climate-health issues from your own region

Who Can Apply?
This fellowship is exclusively open to applicants living in India who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Under 35 years at the time of application
- Location: Resident of a Tier 2 or Tier 3 city, town, or village in India
- Experience: Proven skills in content creation (e.g., articles, blogs, news reports, reels, or social media storytelling)
- Portfolio: Must share 3 published works from 2024 or 2025
- Availability: Able to travel to Pune for the full program (expenses reimbursed post-training)
